Cliff Harrison recently uploaded a touching Facebook message in support of his friend and fellow coach Tom Stuetzer, who has been diagnosed with FTD.

Harrison coached young football with Stuetzer for a number of years and said that Stuetzer was one of the best teachers, mentors, and guys he had ever met.

He claimed that Tom was not only smart and athletic, but also incredibly loving and devoted to each youngster he mentored.

Harrison said that Tom had a lasting effect on his son Charlie’s life and on the lives of many other young athletes in the area.

Coach Tom Stuetzer played collegiate football at Wake Forest University, where he learned a lot about the game and how to be a professional.

He later coached young football and served on the Pope Football Board for four years, continuing to help the game and his community.

After Tom Stuetzer was diagnosed with FTD, the Georgia community prayed for and helped the Stuetzer family.

Coach Tom Stuetzer is only 51-year-old and has been diagnosed with behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia, or FTD.

I’m sharing this to raise awareness and support for one of my best friend’s dads, Tom Stuetzer, as he battles behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD).

Tom has already had to stop working because of the sickness, which has caused him and his family a lot of emotional and financial problems.

Tom lost his job as CFO in July 2025 because of indications of the condition before he had been diagnosed.

The Stuetzer family is having money problems because their insurance isn’t enough to meet their rising medical bills since their father lost his job.

Because of this, Tom and his wife Kerri have been having a really hard time as they deal with these problems as a family.

To assist pay for care and support the family as they deal with this diagnosis, a GoFundMe campaign called “Standing With Tom and Kerri as They Face FTD” has been set up.

Harrison said the situation was bad and wanted the community to join together to help a man who had done so much for others.

Many people have offered to aid the Stuetzer family with money after this sad event, but they still need more to pay for medical bills.

The money raised by the campaign will go directly to the coach’s family to assist pay for these costs.

Everyone who knows Coach Tom is sending him their best wishes, and we also pray for his health and keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
