Leave it to ENHYPEN to hit the ground running. The seven-member group officially opened their 2026 with the January 16 release of THE SIN: VANISH, their seventh mini-album under BELIFT LAB.
It had been about seven months since their last project, DESIRE: UNLEASH, so to say fans were ready would be an understatement.
And the wait seemed worth it. From the moment the first teaser images surfaced, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a light, breezy comeback. The visuals were dark, almost cinematic, the kind of imagery that makes you stop scrolling.
The album picks up where ENHYPEN’s vampire storyline left off, following a forbidden romance between a human and a vampire who are, essentially, running for their lives from a world that refuses to accept them.
What makes THE SIN: VANISH stand apart, though, is how it tells that story. Across its 11 tracks, the EP is framed like an investigative news program, with skits and narration delivered in multiple languages.
It’s theatrical in the best way. The lead single “Knife” anchors the whole thing with a trap-heavy sound that feels restless and urgent, fitting, given that the characters it follows are people with nothing left to lose.
Still, as much as the music drove conversation, one member ended up dominating the discourse differently entirely.
Heeseung Debuts New Hair Color for the Comeback
Somewhere between the teaser drops and the stage performances, fans noticed something about Heeseung.
The ENHYPEN member, already well known for his vocals, stage presence, and, yes, his visuals, showed up to THE SIN: VANISH era with a silver-to-platinum blonde hairstyle that nobody saw coming.
It spread fast. Within hours, ENGENEs had the look trending, and honestly, it wasn’t hard to see why. The color was striking on its own, but paired with the slightly parted, smooth styling, it gave him a cool, almost editorial quality that perfectly matched the album’s sharp aesthetic. On stage and in photos alike, it just worked.
To be fair, Heeseung changing his hair is practically an event in itself at this point. He’s gone through vivid reds, deep brunette phases, and plenty of experimental styles over the years, and each one tends to take on a life of its own within the fandom.
Earlier in 2026, he had brought back a bold red that many fans had been hoping to see again. So when the silver landed, people were paying attention, and the reception was warm.
Fans felt the color brought out his features and suited the moodier tone of the era in a way that felt intentional rather than coincidental.
A Bittersweet Chapter Closes
What nobody anticipated, though, was the news that would follow once promotions wrapped up.
On March 10, 2026, BELIFT LAB announced that Heeseung would be leaving ENHYPEN to go solo, while remaining signed to the agency. The timing hit hard, it came so soon after the comeback that the two events became permanently linked in fans’ minds.
The reaction was immediate. A petition calling on the label to reconsider reportedly crossed one million signatures in under a day, which says everything about how much of himself Heeseung has given to this group, and how much ENGENEs weren’t ready to let that go.
So THE SIN: VANISH carries a weight now that it didn’t have on release day. It’s ENHYPEN’s last record with all seven members, and that fact reframes everything, the concept, the performances, the era as a whole.
For fans looking back on it, the memories will probably be tangled up together: the story of two people trying to escape, and the image of Heeseung standing center stage, silver hair catching the light, in what turned out to be his final bow with the group.
