Who are Vinnie Pasquantino’s parents? Family and Early Life

Vinnie Pasquantino with his parents, Dennis and Jennifer Pasquantino

Vinnie was born on October 10, 1997, in Richmond, Virginia. His parents, Dennis and Jennifer Pasquantino, were there every step of the way, from Little League fields in Virginia to the moment he finally stepped onto an MLB diamond.

The Italian heritage in the family runs primarily through Dennis’s side, and it wasn’t just background noise growing up, it was something the family took seriously.

When it came time to name their son, Dennis pushed for something that honored that lineage. Jennifer, in classic mom fashion, half-jokingly floated the idea of naming him after Derek Jeter. They landed on Vincent Joseph Pasquantino, who said everything that needed to be said about where the family stood.

“My parents are the most important people in my life,”

Baseball wasn’t something Vinnie stumbled into, it was woven into his childhood. His parents hauled him to practices, weekend tournaments, and games across the state without complaint.

When he made his MLB debut with the Royals in 2022, both Dennis and Jennifer flew out from the East Coast to be there. That trip alone tells you what kind of parents they are.

“His mom has always been his rock,” people close to the family have noted, and by all accounts, Jennifer rarely misses a chance to watch him play, whether in person or from home.

Vinnie attended James River High School in Virginia, where his bat started turning heads early. From there, he went to Old Dominion University, playing for the Monarchs and developing the patient, left-handed swing that would eventually catch the attention of MLB scouts.

His father stayed close during those college years, making the drive to games when he could. His mother kept the emotional foundation steady, something any athlete grinding through a long, uncertain path to the pros will tell you matters more than most people realize.

The work paid off. The Royals took him in the 11th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. He spent a few years in the minors, found his footing, and arrived in Kansas City in 2022 ready to contribute.

Vinnie Pasquantino Hits Three Home Runs in Historic WBC Game

March 11, 2026, in Houston, if you missed it, you missed something genuinely special. Pasquantino put together one of the most memorable individual performances in World Baseball Classic history, going deep three times as Italy rolled past Mexico 9–1. No player had ever hit three home runs in a single WBC game before. He’s the first.

He got things started with a solo shot in the second inning. Another one came in the sixth. He capped it off in the eighth, all three going to right field, all three crushing. Italy finished pool play at 4–0, and their captain was a big reason why.

“I’ve never done it before,” Pasquantino said afterward, still seeming to process it himself.

It wasn’t just a good night at the plate. It was the kind of game people bring up for years.
